If you are looking for a family oriented activity or simply a romantic time with your partner, ice skating at Cedarena is the place for you. Situated in Markham, Ontario, this old-fashioned outdoor rink offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
When you arrive at the front gate, you are greeted by a tree-lined pathway that leads down to the quaint chalet. Inside the chalet, you are welcomed by friendly greeters and the smell of a wood-burning stove and old, wooden benches where you can strap on your skates. When you exit the chalet, you are greeted by the sounds of old-fashion music and the feeling that you skated back into time, which isn’t a surprise – ice skating in Cedar Grove is a tradition that has lasted three centuries.
You won’t experience the smooth feeling of your local rink that uses the Zamboni frequently; this is authentic, old-fashioned ice skating at its best. The extra grooves are all part of the experience.
Operated by the local Cedar Grove Community Club, the rink is open to the public for ice skating and ice rentals.
