Located just 12 miles from downtown Orlando, Loews Royal Pacific Resort is an ideal home base for your theme park vacation. Its proximity to Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Theme Park makes it an excellent choice for your Central Florida vacation.

From the time you walk across the bridge into the resort from the parking area, you’ll feel magically transported to the world of the South Pacific. Stunning authentic woodwork beams and carvings lead you to an expansive atrium in the center of the lobby. Here fountains and lush vegetation greet you and beckon you to walk in and spend some time relaxing on a bench with a cool drink in hand. The main lobby area offers ample seating near the Orchid Court Lounge and nearby Sushi Bar. It’s a beautiful spot to unwind, have a light meal and cocktail, relax and do some people-watching.

Each of the stunning 1,000 guest rooms on-site offers lovely tropical decor and abundant amenities. Guest rooms feature over 300 square feet of living space, and guests can choose a Garden or Water View room, with your choice of a king or two queen beds.

When staying at Lowes Royal Pacific, guests will appreciate the attention to detail regarding amenities and services. Immerse yourself in the magic of the South Pacific at the Torch Lighting Ceremony. Held on select nights poolside, the Oli Aloha welcome chant puts guests in the proper frame of mind for their tropical vacation. A fire dancer entertains while guests clamour at the chance to learn how to be warriors and perfect their warrior screams and signature moves.

With several dining options, Loews Royal Pacific Resort caters to a variety of tastes. Guests will enjoy a variety of food options. There’s something for everyone, from sit-down dinners to poolside bars, a buffet, and a dinner show. Jakes American Bar offers ample seating, a standard bar, and to-go meals at Jakes on the Fly, which allows you to order food ahead of time and grab lunch or dinner to go. Directly across from Jakes is The Islands Dining Room, where you’ll find flavorful options like beef satay, shrimp pad thai, and crab rangoon. The resort also serves breakfast here. Guests are invited and encouraged to sit outside at the outdoor patio adjacent to the pools, take in the views and enjoy a morning meal.

The expansive pool area at Loews Royal Pacific Resort features a lagoon-style pool, sandy beach area, and private cabanas with three hot tubs. Guests travelling with children will love the Royal Bali interactive play area, splash pad, and zero-entry pool. There’s a small wading pool for young children with plenty of space for parents to sit back and take it easy while the children have fun splashing around in the water or digging in the sand nearby. Adults looking for a fun dinner alone or date night at Universal City Walk can take advantage of the child care services on site. The Mariners Club is a kids camp that will keep kids entertained and happy while parents enjoy a night on the town.

Bula Bar and Grill serves quick snacks and lunch items. Order up some tropical fresh fruit, or nachos, quesadillas, or a burger or wraps poolside, making for an ideal way to spend some downtime between theme park days. Additionally, Loews Royal Pacific’s game room will keep family members occupied with arcade games and air hockey.

If you happen to run out of time to buy souvenirs in the theme parks, the resort has you covered. Toko Gifts in the main lobby offers Universal Studios Orlando merchandise for Harry Potter and Minions fans. You’ll also find Royal Pacific branded sweatshirts and mugs here. Mas gift shop sells authentic merchandise from the South Pacific like wooden carvings, masks, and clothing. Near the pool area, Treasures of Bali is the ideal shop for resort wear and beach gear.

Resort Extras You Didn’t Know You Needed

Lush tropical vegetation greets you along with sights and sounds of stunning rushing waterfalls. You’ll feel immediately transported as you follow the bamboo-lined pathways that meander through this expansive hotel. The resort offers walkable access to Universal Islands of Adventure. For any business guests, conferencing and meeting rooms are available. The ample business center can assist in taking care of last-minute office emergencies. Loews Royal Pacific Resort is also pet-friendly. The third building features an adjacent dog park area with green space to keep your pup happy.

You will also have access to the Mandara Spa at Loews Portofino Bay Hotel. Guests of Universal Orlando Resorts can also take advantage of early park admission, free shuttles to and from the parks, and purchased merchandise delivered directly to their room. This service is convenient when you’re spending a day in the parks and don’t want to lug around your replica Nimbus 2000.

The signature dinner show and the all-you-can-eat buffet at Loews Royal Pacific Resort is a must-do. You do not have to be a guest of the hotel to experience the Wantilan Luau Dinner Show.  The Polynesian buffet offers delicious food and unlimited mai tai cocktails. This event features interpretive dancing, live music, and an interactive luau experience. Guests also get to take home a souvenir tiki cup.

Held on Saturday nights, the luau offers regular and priority seating at two separate ticket tier prices (both include complimentary parking). Some of the buffet food options include ahi tuna salad, toasted coconut jasmine rice, Hawaiian teriyaki chicken, and a pit-roasted suckling pig with various toppings. Guests with allergies won’t have to worry as each food is labelled with potential allergens. Kid-friendly buffet offerings include chicken tenders, macaroni and cheese, and peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. Included beverages consist of fruit punch, lemonade and tea, and of course, the unlimited Mai Tais.

The 2.5-hour event typically begins with a pre-show at 5:30 with interactive hula lessons. The buffet is open from 6 p.m. – 7:30. Live music, fire dancers, and hula interpretations run for an hour, beginning at 7 p.m.


As a result of Covid-19, Universal Orlando, Loews Royal Pacific Resort, and many other hotels are implementing measures to prevent the spread of the virus. These include:

  • Face coverings are optional for fully vaccinated guests, while non-vaccinated guests require face-coverings when indoors.
  • Social distancing between parties is encouraged.
  • Washing hands often is encouraged. There are also hand sanitizer stations available for use.
  • Universal recommends the Official Universal Resort App, which also allows for contact-free features to stay up to date. 

Concerning the Loews Royal Pacific Resort, there are also some additional changes resulting from the virus. These include:

  • Making dining reservations is strongly recommended and can be made here.
  • Unfortunately, the Wantilan Luau, Despicable Me Character Breakfast, and Jake’s Beer Dinners and Festivals are temporarily closed.
    • However, the Bula Bar & Grille, Islands Dining Room, Jake’s American Bar, Orchid Court Lounge & Sushi Bar, and Tuk Tuk Market are still open. 
  • While the Lagoon-Style swimming pool is available, Poolside Activities, Resort Kids Camps, and the Torch Lighting Ceremony (due to the audience participation) are temporarily closed.
  • The fitness facility, game room, and island shops’ are all open, but the hours of operation are subject to change. 
  • The walking and jogging paths are all open.
